Medicinal Plants of Susruta Samhita "......There are many translations and commentaries of Sushruta Samhita in Indian languages and in English but none deals in detail about the identity of plants except the "Glossary of Vegetable Drugs in Brihattrayi", where Prof. Chunekar was the co-author. It was published in 1972 by his Guru, late Thakur Balwant Singh, the most renowned field botanist of Ayurveda, whose contribution in this field is unprecedented. Much work has been published since then in the form of research papers and books, but a comprehensive book in English dealing with plants of antiquity by an authority supported by original references was a great need. ......." Ayurveda & Communication breakdown

Communication breakdown is a current problem. The more communication means we have the less we communicate.

As we expand in technology we regress in communications. Haven’t you noticed how many people never acknowledge your emails ? We have Facebooks, Skypes, Twitters, emails, text messengers, cell phones, cell text, even normal telephones and god forbid - letters !

So what is the problem ? People act like they communicate but in fact do less and less of real COMMUNICATION, i.e., impart, confer, or transmit. On a superficial level this is the sharing of short messages and information. On a deeper level this is sharing feelings and ideas. On a deeper level this is about sharing human values and understanding.

As vata dosha gets increased by technology, fast, superficial lifestyles - it changes our manner of communication. We become faster, shallower and more superficial. Vata dosha controls our reception of information and expression of communication. Thus, if we abuse one side of this dynamic, the other side automatically suffers the same. So as you write shorter and shorted texto’s you end up having a shorter and shorter attention span. Opps, the shorter the attention span the shorter the messages you send. The less you spend time communicating the eaiser it is to be superficial. The more superficial you are the more problems you have to communicate with those people close to you - in other words, your personal relationships begin to breakdown. This is the result of not taking the time to manage vata and to communicate !
